"DEMEDARTS" exhibition in Bad Ischl
Exhibition duration: 21.10. until 10.11.2024

Location: Gallery AM FLUSS, Hasnerallee 2, 4820 Bad Ischl, AUSTRIA
Human dignity is the very foundation of fundamental rights and is enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948. Unfortunately, however, older people and people with dementia are usually not part of this in our society.
The DEMEDARTS exhibition speaks up for people with dementia, creates designs that illuminate the topic with and through art, generate empathy through artistic objects and actions, and bring visitors into a friendly, sometimes humorous exchange.
Paintings, prints, photography, design, jewelry and books on the subject can be viewed and purchased at the Galerie am Fluss during the exhibition period. The net proceeds will go towards research.
I am contributing my ink paintings to the exhibition.
These ink paintings were created through AI-inspired research. AI* is used here as a creative tool, so to speak.
The artist subsequently created prompts for well-known internationally recognized art and design personalities, but also for materials, famous politicians or artists and designers of the past and present. A total of 223 images were generated.
The research question here was whether AI can generate ideas, such as what a walker in the style of Calvin Klein, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Harris Bar, Atelier Lieshout etc. would look like. The artist had already made sketches of various walkers inspired by designers such as Gerrit Thomas Rietveld or Gaetano Pesce.
The images were then evaluated and some were selected to inspire the ink paintings and the transfer print.
